Day Six - June 15

Today I moved on from just prepping samples and I got the opportunity to actually load them onto the instrument! It took a few tries for me to learn how to properly label each sample as I put into the program, but I was able to make an entire sequence and start the run!

This is a picture I took of the sample-loading page. On the left there are folders showing exactly where the sequence is located, sorted by date. On the right is the area to load samples; each sample needs specific information keyed in to tell the instrument exactly what to do to it.

I'm really proud that I was able to pick up this part of the job, since it now means that I can take samples from start to finish in the lab by myself!
